Visual Event Setup

Define conversions by clicking on your website

With the visual event setup you open your live website straight from the LeadSignal dashboard and click the button or link that should count as a conversion. Name, value and mapping to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn are set in the same step. No triggers, variables or containers.

See it in action

Simplified illustration, the real interface differs in detail.

Book a callLearn more

Click the element, name it, map the platforms: done, without code and without a tag manager.

What's included

Click instead of code

You mark buttons and links directly on your page. Nobody has to touch code or write CSS selectors.

Map straight to the platforms

Map each event to standard events such as Lead, Purchase or ViewContent on Meta, TikTok events, Google Ads conversion actions or LinkedIn conversions.

Value and currency per event

Set a conversion value and currency so your campaigns can optimise for value.

Page events for thank-you pages

Count visits to specific URLs as conversions: exact, contains, starts with or ends with.

Form data detected automatically

LeadSignal detects email, phone, first and last name in forms and attaches them to subsequent events. For the conversion APIs they are hashed with SHA-256 before sending.

Custom events via JavaScript

For special cases you trigger events yourself with window.leadsignal.trigger(), for example after a booking in an embedded tool.

How it works

  1. 1

Start the setup from the dashboard

One click opens your website with the setup overlay. Access runs through a time-limited link that only you can create from the dashboard.

  2. 2

    Click the element

Pick the button or link that triggers a conversion, for example "Book a call" or "Request a quote".

  3. 3

Name the event and set a value

Give the event a name and optionally a value with currency.

  4. 4

    Map to your ad platforms

Decide which event the conversion becomes on Meta, Google Ads, TikTok or LinkedIn.

  5. 5

    Test

For Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn you send a test event from the integration and check it in the platform's events manager.

In detail

  • Works on any website where you can add a script to the head, for example WordPress, Webflow, Wix or Shopware.
  • Page views are tracked automatically, including route changes in single-page apps.
  • Three event types: click events, page events and custom events via the JavaScript API.
  • One event can be mapped to several platforms at once.
  • Contact data can also be passed with leadsignal.identify() or via URL parameters.

Good to know

  • •The tool recognises an element by attributes such as text, link target and position on that specific page. If you change the button text, link or page URL, you set the event up again.
  • •You can't enter your own CSS selectors. Use the JavaScript API for special cases.
  • •Form detection does not create its own event. You track form conversions via the thank-you page (page event) or the submit button (click event).
  • •For LinkedIn you need a conversion ID from LinkedIn Campaign Manager for each mapping.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Google Tag Manager for this?+

No. The LeadSignal script handles loading the pixels, events and mapping. If you already use GTM for other things, it can keep running alongside.

What happens when I redesign my website?+

As long as the button text, link target and page URL stay the same, the event keeps working. If they change, simply mark the element again in the visual setup. Page events on thank-you pages are unaffected as long as the URL stays the same.

How do I track a contact form?+

Most reliably via the thank-you page after submission, as a page event. If there is no thank-you page, mark the submit button as a click event. The contact data detected in the form is passed along automatically.

Can I pass conversion values?+

Yes. You set a fixed value and currency per event. Dynamic values, for example from a cart, are passed via the JavaScript API.
